Conference Venue

The conference will be held at the Institute of Information Theory and Automation of the Czech Academy of Sciences in the areal "Mazanka". The institute is located at 5 minutes walking distance from the metro station Ládví (red line).

The Institute of Information Theory and Automation (UTIA) is a public non-university research institution which administratively falls under the Czech Academy of Sciences. UTIA conducts fundamental and applied research in computer science, signal and image processing, pattern recognition, system science, and control theory. In addition to its research activities, UTIA is engaged in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate education. It also publishes the journal Kybernetika and acts as a certified forensic expert institution.

UTIA is easilly accesible from the city centre by metro - line C (red) to station Ládví and short (~10min) walk. Many useful information about Prague can be found at praguecitytourism.cz.


SIGHTSEEING

Prague Castle

Prague Castle (Czech: Pražský hrad) is a castle complex in Prague, Czech Republic, dating from the 9th century and the official residence of the President of the Czech Republic. The castle was a seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia. The Bohemian Crown Jewels are kept within a hidden room inside it.

Old City Cetre

Built between the 11th and 18th centuries, the Old Town, the Lesser Town and the New Town speak of the great architectural and cultural influence enjoyed by this city since the Middle Ages. The many magnificent monuments, such as Prague Castle, St Vitus Cathedral, Charles Bridge and numerous churches and palaces, built mostly in the 14th century under the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles IV.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION & MAP

Public transportation

The connection of International Václav Havel Airport Prague and Prague's city centre is operated by buses 100 and 119 and by the special bus AE (Airtport Express).

To save the troubles with tickets we highly recommend to purchuse 72 hours (or 24 hours) ticket right at the airport in the DPP company info centre at Terminal 2. Its price is 310 CZK (or 110 CZK, respectively). Do not forget to validate it in a bus (tram, metro,..) during its first use. Buses 100 and 119 are included in this fare. AE bus (Airtport Express) has to be paid extra (50CZK). More about fares in Prague can be found here.

How to get to UTIA

    • By metro: Take Line C (red) to Ládví station.
    • By tram: Take the trams 10 to the stop Ládví.

Conference dinner

Conference dinner will be held in Vila Lanna - a representative residence of the Czech Academy of Sciences. To get there, use metro line A (green line) to Hradčanská station and then follow this map.
